Evolution Aqua have launched the Nexus320+ and Nexus220+filtration systems. Building on the tried and tested technology that has been ever present in the world renowned Nexus, the team at Evolution Aqua have gone even further to enhance their number one Koi pond filter.

The Nexus320+ and Nexus220+ filters now come with a brand new filter media called K+Media in the moving bed outer chamber for greatly improved biological filtration and much faster filter maturation. The new Nexus+ filters are also supplied “auto ready”, with factory fitted fixings already in place, making it even easier to upgrade to the Nexus Automatic Cleaning System.

How it works?

Incoming water enters through the inlet and connects to the inner chamber, where it swirls around the EAZY filter cage packed with K1 Micro media. This vortex action allows larger solids to settle at the chamber base, while the K1 Micro media traps finer particles (this is the mechanical filtration phase).

Once solids are removed, water flows through the centre of the Nexus into the outer chamber. Here, the aerated moving bed contains K+ Media where beneficial bacteria (Nitrobacter and Nitrosomonas) colonise the surface. These bacteria consume ammonia (NH3) and nitrite (NO2) from fish waste, converting them into less harmful nitrate (NO3) that naturally disperses.

This biological treatment stage ensures water is fully conditioned before returning to your pond through the exit grill and outlet.
